Originally from Miami, Florida, Lina Sarrello is an up and coming multi-lingual Actress, Director, Writer, and Producer.

Lina started writing with two New York based companies, Latinoflavored Productions and the People’s Theater Project. She has written numerous stage and screen plays that have been produced in and around New York. Lina’s first stage play, Life Could Be un Sueño, won a playwright’s award in the 2008 Asi Somos Festival, and was an official selection at the Downtown Urban Theater Festival that year. Her production company, H.A.D.A. Productions created the Latino animated short based on the Frog Prince, which won for Best Animated Short at the Tiny Lights Film Festival in 2012.

Her existential play, Waiting for the D was an official selection at the 2010 DUTF. And her live-action short screenplay, LOBO: An Orisha Tale premiered at the 2014 Havana Film Festival in NYC, was an official selection at the 2014 International Puerto Rican Heritage Film Festival, and won an award at the 2015 Miami International Sci Fi Film Festival for Best Supernatural Suspense Film.

Presently, Lina’s play, Out There, about the Cuban Revolution, is an official selection at the Broadway Bound Theater Festival and will be performed in both English and Spanish.
