Name: Rori Nogee
What is your current project?
Siren’s Den. It is a new rock musical which centers on unrequited love, repeated cycles of destruction, and the healing powers of music.
Where are you performing it and why is it the right fit for your piece?
The show is being featured in the New York New Works Theatre Festival. The team is very excited to present the show to new eyes and a panel of producers, especially with the exciting technical elements that the Elektra theater offers. The video projections, lavaliers, and state of the art lighting system will truly capture the rock feel of the show.
What’s next for you?
I have teamed up with an investor and we have meetings lined up with Off-Broadway theaters in the hopes of transferring the show in the spring of 2017. In the meantime, I am finishing up a run of “Showgirls, the Musical!” in San Francisco, and then it’s back to a day job as a hostess on The Ride, while squeezing in time in the recording studio to work on Siren’s Den music!
Who is your biggest inspiration right at this moment and why?
My biggest inspiration is and always will be Jonathan Larson, for his heart, his music, and the gifts he gave to the world in his short time here.
