We’re part of the wonderful new Broadway Bound Festival and we’re fortunate to play at the 14th Street Y, which is a terrific space.
What’s next for you?
Well before Saving Stan, my musical Mad Mel Saves the World premieres at the Midtown International Theater Festival (July 18-23). After Saving Stan, my new sci-fi novel A Mound Over Hell will be published by BHC Press in March 2018. In between I’ll try to sleep.
What is the name of the last show you saw?
Ernest Shackleton Loves Me
Any advice for your peers?
Keep writing, no matter how much it hurts because in the end, it won’t.

Gary Morgenstein wrote the critically acclaimed off-Broadway rock musical The Anthem, and his dramatic works range from A Tomato Can’t Grow in the Bronx and Right on Target to Ponzi Man and Saving Stan, premiering August 3 at the Broadway Bound Festival. His new musical Mad Mel Saves the World will premiere July 18 at the Midtown International Theater Festival. Morgenstein’s novels include A Mound Over Hell, a baseball-science fiction story set in 2098 following America’s defeat in World War Three. The first book in The Dark Depths trilogy, A Mound Over Hell is scheduled to be published by BHC Press in March 2018. His other novels include Jesse’s Girl; Loving Rabbi Thalia Kleinman; Take Me Out to the Ballgame and The Man Who Wanted to Play Center Field for the New York Yankees. Morgenstein is the creator of the Marradia brand which includes a radio series, musical and the Ancient Aliens books.
